Why do we Sabbath?

The Sabbath reminds us of God's power and presence and moves us away from self-reliance and into dependence on God. God commanded us to Sabbath so that we could find rest in him. This action models the nature of God to those around us and reveals to the world around us that our trust is in God.

How to Practice Sabbath Rest

  • Relax

Take a break from work, projects, and commitments. Unplug from social media.

  • Reflect

Spend time in quiet, or journaling God's faithfulness in your life and meditate on who He is!

  • Reconnect with God

Spend time reading scripture, and praying and listening for God’s voice.

  • Reconnect with Others

Go to brunch or hang out with friends or family while reflecting on what God has done in your life.

  • Rejoice

Share what you are thankful for. Get outside, go for a nature walk, and enjoy God’s creation.

Reconnect with Friends
